Connect Hermes Agent

This guide uses a personal access token. For OAuth, contact support with your client's exact callback URI before connecting. See client compatibility.

Create a token with the MCP scope in Reconstruct Platform settings, as described in Personal access token.

Configure the server​

Add the token to your local ~/.hermes/.env:

CR_RECONSTRUCT_MCP_TOKEN=<your MCP token>

Add reconstruct to mcp_servers in ~/.hermes/config.yaml. Preserve existing server entries:

Hermes uses Streamable HTTP by default for URL-based servers. Keep the token in .env; Hermes expands the variable in the header. For a named profile, edit that profile's configuration and .env instead.

Check the connection​

Start Hermes, or run /reload-mcp in an existing session. Ask it to call mcp__reconstruct__list_products.
