# Connect MiMo Desktop

This guide uses a personal access token. Create a token with the **MCP** scope in [Reconstruct Platform settings](https://reconstruct.dev/platform/), as described in [Personal access token](../connect-ai-agents.md#personal-access-token).

## Add a custom MCP server

In MiMo Desktop, open **Settings → MCP servers** under **Integrations**, then open **Connect to custom MCP**.

1. Set **Name** to `reconstruct`.
2. Select **Streamable HTTP** under **Type**.
3. Set **URL** to `https://reconstruct.dev/mcp`.
4. Under **Headers**, click **+ Header**. Set the header name to `Authorization` and its value to `Bearer <your MCP token>`, replacing the placeholder with your token.
5. Click **Save**.

Keep the token private. This is the Reconstruct MCP access token, separate from any Xiaomi API key used to configure models.

## Check the connection

Check the server status in **MCP servers**, then start a new task and ask MiMo to call `list_products` using the `reconstruct` tools. If tools are missing, restart MiMo Desktop and start a new task. For `401 Unauthorized`, check the token's MCP scope and replace an expired or revoked token.

## OAuth browser sign-in

The Desktop form provides HTTP headers for token authentication. Its help text directs users to the MiMo Code configuration shown in Settings for OAuth or more complex authentication. Before choosing OAuth, [contact support](https://reconstruct.dev/support) with the exact callback URI; Reconstruct requires a pre-registered public client and an approved callback. See [client compatibility](../connect-ai-agents.md#client-compatibility).

For the terminal or editor client, use [MiMo Code](./mimo-code.md). See Xiaomi's [MiMo Desktop guide](https://mimo.mi.com/docs/en-US/tokenplan/integration/mimo-desktop) for application setup. If connection fails, check [troubleshooting](../connect-ai-agents.md#troubleshooting). Next, try the [prompt examples](../prompt-examples.md).
