Connect GitHub Copilot in VS Code

This guide uses a personal access token. OAuth requires a pre-registered public client and an approved callback address; entering only the server URL may attempt anonymous dynamic registration, which Reconstruct disables. See client compatibility.

Copy your MCP access token from your Reconstruct Platform account settings. See Before you start for the connection requirements.

Create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace. VS Code prompts for the token and stores the answer for later use.

Run MCP: List Servers to start and inspect it. In Copilot Chat, switch to Agent mode and enable the Reconstruct tools in the tool picker. Ask Copilot to call list_products to confirm access. See the official VS Code MCP configuration.

Next, try the prompt examples.
